CPES on Transom

I'm revarnishing the outside of my Sea Coaster and have a question about CPES on the transom. I have some small hairline checks in the seam where the boards are glued together. Will the CPES seal this. Also, should I stain before applying the CPES or after. I'm afraid the CPES will darken the wood. ...

Phil, Thanks for the advice. The rub rail is available but boy is it expensive. I've used the anodize for alum that is gold in color but I've not seen the clear. I'll research that.

Alum. Rub Rail Restoration

I removed the aluminum rub rail on my boat so I can revarnish the deck. I would like to do some light sanding and polishing to clean it up. Any tips or products that are effective? It is currently dull and turns a gray color when sanded.

Thompson Logo

Is the Thompson Logo trademarked? If so, can it be reproduced and used for personal use? Is the logo available in a digital format?

Dan and John thanks for the input. You confirmed what I was thinking and besides I won't be doing any major runs nor will I have a need for speed. My wife and I will primarily be cruising the two small rivers that border the peninsula I live on. I'll forgo the 61 Evinrude Starlite 70hp in excellent ...

It is a Thompson Boat made in Cortland, NY. The small metal plate on the transom has a serial number of 54776, manufactured in Cortland, NY. I see no numbers burned into the transom. It has a 15' overall length and a 67" beam. The title says 1959 but the serial number seems to indicate 1954. Lo...

61 Evinrude 75hp Starflite

I need to know if a Evinrude 75hp Starflite weighing 220lbs is to much engine for my 15' Thompson Runabout? I'm thinking it might be a bit too big but I want to be sure before buying it.

Steering Wheel on left

Nearly every picture of Thompson Boats I've seen have the steering wheel on the right. Is there any significance to having it placed on the left?

Barn find Thompson Runabout

I purchased a Thompson Runabout this weekend that has been sitting in a barn for twenty three years. It is in very good condition but will need varnish. I'm not sure what model it is. This is what I know. The small metal plate on the transom had a serial number of 54776, manufactured in Cortland, NY...
