Re: Thompson Rally ?

It has already been a month since the Thompson Boat Rally. I'd like to second Bill Dunn's comments on the boat rally, it was a wonderful experience. Many "Thanks" to Andreas, Nest Egg Marine, Bill & Mary and to all those that showed up to make the event happen. I completed my 63 Sea La...

Re: Blue behind logo.

I have some of the blue. Let me check and see if it's still in a liquid form. I be happy to give you enough,
you pay the UPS.

When I restored my 1962/63 era Thompson Sea Lancer I ended up buying some spare items from a guy parting out a boat. I think in my stash I have a spare steering wheel. I'll look tonight.

Starting fluid will strip the lubricant off the cylinder walls and pistons and is not recommended for oil/gas mixture 2 cycle engines. You can do some serious damage with starting fluid. Most engines have a thermal relay that will kill the engine before doing permanent damage from overhaeting. Usual...

I mounted the letters, numbers and stickes on 1/8" thick plexiglas drilled small holes in each end and used small suction cups and I hang them from the inside of the side windows of my 1963 Sea Lancer. I was not keen on applying anything to the paint or varnish. The Ohio Dept. Of Watercraft loo...

1963 Sea Lancer / Outboard

Dear Fellow Restorers, I completed the restoration of my Sea Lancer late last spring. In mid-summer I finally installed an 85HP V-4 Johnson on the transom. The boat has good speed and handling, my problem is when I accelerate, the engine revs high and the prop seems to ventilate until the boat spped...

I restored a 63 Sea Lancer the last few years and I did not re-install the accessory bow pulpit rail. If you have any interest, email me.

Arnie, Just caught up with the recent email threads and thought I would reply to your rubrail inquiry. I bought about 80 ft. of the material over two years ago and sold it to a guy in Michigan two months ago. I decided not to use the white rubrail with the aluminum insert. I have installed 1" w...

63 Sea Lancer Deck Hatch Hinges

In my haste of dismantling I did not take photos of this particular detail. Any advise on how to mount and hide the hinges for the deck hatch cover?? This is the last pesky detail to overcome. Your replies are appreciated.

Sea Lancer Side Windows

Dear Fellow Restorers, I have my new wood windshield installed on my 1963 Sea Lancer and I'm ready to install the side window glass. I have purchased new gasketing offered on the Club's website. What type of bedding or chaulk do you use in combination with the gasket to secure the glass?? Any advice...

Lemonade Yellow 63 Sea Lancer

I painted my refurbished 63 Sea Lancer Deluxe a number of months ago with Kirby Paint Co., Lemonade Yellow Semi-Gloss. The finish looks very flat next to the new glossy varnished shear and garboards. What is the opinion of my fellow restorers on semi-gloss vs. gloss finish?? I'm not reluctant to re-...

Thanks LancerBoy for jumping in and trying to move this forward. I have talked with Mr. Kirby and he can blend up a quart. As for the color selection of Pantone 306, I recall finding that reference in the Dockside Archives. I hope it's correct.

Thanks, Chuck Drumm
