Anyone have pics of hinges on Seacoaster flip up seatback
I need to buy some hinges for a flip down slat back seat, that I am going to make for my 1960 Seacoaster... I have one picture, but I am not sure if the hinges are original, I would appreciate seeing another one or two. Does anyone have a good picture?... I am not sure of the shape, or whether they ...

Upgrade trailer or use vintage design
I am planning to upgrade my Tee Nee trailer shortly... I am thinking of replacing the old wiring and bulb lights with a new kit with round LED lights. My winch appears to be an unoriginal copper color, with a frayed yellow rope. I think I will replace with a new ESD black painted one from Overtons, ...

Jim... I don't remember exactly, but I think I used maroon Scotchbrite pads in between paint topcoats..... just to haze it up a bit.... I might have used gray pads, but just enough to take off the semigloss... I don't believe I sanded at all in between coats of the High Build Epoxy Primer.. John Hart

2x6 or 2x6 Bunks
I am planning to add several new bunks to my trailer this spring... I think I will place them on either side of the keel, about where the stringers are. The other bunks I have, I made using treated wood about 2x6 wide... However, I am considering just buying these ready made/covered. The ones in Ove...

Straight Hitch or Drop Hitch
I just sold my Astro van and am buying a used Tahoe... I just used a straight hitch, to slide into a 2" receiver, immediately under the bumper on my van (Drawtight).... It seemed to provide a pretty level trailer/boat arrangement. However, I need to configure the new vehicle and I see a lot of ...

Rong... I believe I have posted in the old dockside forum about flipping over my 1960 Seacoaster... essentially, I hooked straps or chains to the rear two eyes on the transom, which were anchored on a four wheeler... Then I used a tow strap (like seat belt) under the rear of the boat, with a guy on ...

Hi 1957Creaky... I know I have asked others before, but how did you post your pictures directly into the body of your message.... ? Other folks gave me the impression that you need an additional service, like an image service, that is referenced when posting a pic.... It is so clean and handy to do ...

Hi Eric... I have a 1960 Seacoaster.... I believe my keelson butts up to the transom... tight... then I believe it was screwed and plugged (bunged) from the outside through the transom. Look for holes with bungs a slightly different color on the outside of your transom. Seemed to me there were at le...

Planing angle
I am interested in the location of the proper planing surface on our Thompson Boats... Mine is a Seacoaster.... At say 25-30 MPH, should most of the weight of the hull contact the water on the rear half of the boat... ? As I look at various pictures of boats underway, I see different amounts of the ...

Oh good !! justification for another piece of equipment..... I have passed up a lot of good deals for handhelds in the West Marine, Overtons, etc. sale fliers over the past several years.... I wasn't sure how much trouble the licensing was, or whether a Marine radio or other radio (like hunting) was...

Thanks Andreas... I was hoping you would say that about the varnish. I did know that CPES wicked in, to the point that wood was still able to breathe... It is an incredible product.... I have let a little pool of it dry on a sheet of poly for a few days, and although it is hard to a fingenail poke, ...

Marine Radios
Do any of you guys carry a Marine radio or other communication unit when you are in your boats? I usually am on small inland lakes, pretty close to a shoreline when I am out.... but given that all our boats have a lot of 45 year old wood, I am always concerned about getting the right help when we ne...

Does Varnish "breathe"
We have often read that slopping on epoxy on the interior and underside of a wooden boat encapsulizes the wood and thereby prevents the evaporation of any moisture that eventually finds it's way into that wood... even if it doesn't prevent it entirely, at least is retards the evaporation of moisture...
