How straight are your stringers? Straight stringers are also important.

I believe my keelson and stringers are straight for at least 4 feet. I'll try to measure this weekend. My boat is a 1960 Cruisers Inc 202 16'.

Nice thing about 5200 is you don't have to mix it. Plus it does not run like epoxy. When using 5200 on laps, use mahogany if you can, it is less noticeable when it get out of the joint. There is use talk of white oak and epoxy not being the best, although thats's what I used. Two part resorsinal is ...

I used a 18" or so air powered auto body file to smooth the bottom of my 1960 Cruisers Inc. 202 16'.

I had copper bronze color matched to hard non antifouling marine enamel.

Looks like antifouling, but is smother and therefore faster than std antifouling paint. 2 1/2 years and 100 hours+ and still doing well.

Depends on if there's a taper at end of keel. My 202 does not have a taper, but still measures a little over 20 without keel, and does fine.

Easiest way is use a framing square held tight against the bottom.

Concrete block properly will not do it. Jacks and poles to ceiling might, over correct and let spring back. I've read 2 or 3 months?????? If you are worried about rot, I've read about antifreeze killing rot???? The need for bracing after it's back, don't know, depends on how much is left of old wood.

Ward Here what's probably happening, as the hook or hog pushes the bow down, it lifts the stern and engine, at some point the prop cavitates. Lowering the engine should help as a band aid fix, but really not the proper solution. Cupping the prop will help in this case to some degree. Also attaching ...

You could replace the stringers with stif and straight material, or simply use metal c channel to straighten the present stringers. Strings would be easier to replace than the inner keel. This in addition to the inner keel. Then use bondo the finish the job. Or you could do what I did. http://www.ae...

Yes it could. Is the hook 1/8" in one foot? Check the bottom with a 4' or 6' straight edge, that will tell the tale. If its only 12" long and the rest is straight, the 12" hook can be filled, most likely its 1/8 of hook per foot and its 3 or 4 feet long and that's a different story. I...

The problem is most likely a hook in the bottom, causing the bow to drop resulting in bow steer. Solution get the bottom straight. Not easy, but might be able to do, by jacking keel against a straight I beam or other very strong and straight beam. Very much like straighting a steel shaft by over ben...

Not having a keeldoes make it harder. Have you removed the garwwod yet? If not maybe you can make a pattern of the keel from the outside. I was lucky for boat had good wood except for the keel. Just took it apart and reassebled, replacing very little, except keel. The lapstrakes screw holes lined up...
