Re: Thompson Boat Rally 2019
Good to hear! I am going to try to set the time aside and book a trip on the Badger.

Re: Volvo-Penta AQ100
My parts catalog does not list a lift handle, and a search shows various styles. Maybe an aftermarket add on? I am sending you a pm with my email. If you can send me some pictures I will check with my contacts.

Re: alternate fuel tank
Moeller makes a couple V shaped plastic tanks, both above deck with hold downs, and below deck with straps. Most boats under 50 foot built since the 1980s use low permeation rubber fuel lines (not standard auto store or outboard motor fuel line) from tank to engine. Tie it down every foot. There are...

Re: Thompson Boat Rally 2017
Thank you Andreas for all the work you put into this. It can be frustrating when the weather does not cooperate. We had a great time, met great people, and got the boat washed for free. Kids had a blast and are already asking when we are going back! FYI for anybody in lower MI that would like to att...

Re: Thompson Boat Rally 2017
I like to see works in progress as much as the finnished product. As much as I was hoping to bring a finnished boat, that will not be the case. I am trying my hardest to bring my project boat, which should create conversation. Wish me luck.

Re: Offshore Rub Rail
I looked at the 1968 brochure for Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. of Peshtigo, WI. It appears as if the gunwale rub rail is the same as they utilized on early to mid 1960s boats: vinyl with an aluminum insert in the middle. If this is the case, the vinyl can be obtained thru Wefco Rubber in Canoga Par...

Re: 63 Sea Lancer Dash Help
I have all the dimensions on this now. Was able to measure a boat locally, and do some creative measuring and calculating on old family photos.

Re: Typical original engine weight for 17' Sea Lancer?
I had a '62, and have a '63. The '62 had a 75hp evinrude. I bought the boat for parts, so never used it. The original owners said it rode well and that was the engine delivered on it. The '63 had a Merc 850 "tower of power" on it since my family bought it in the mid '70s. That boat ran goo...

Dash emblems
I am looking for the "Super" & "Sea" from the 1960's Thompson dash for the Sea Lancer and Super Lancer. If anybody has one or the other laying around, I would be very interested. I think the Sea Coaster is the same.
Thanks

Vinyl Deck trim
I am looking for close up pictures and maybe some measurements for the aluminum edge trim for the deck, and the trim that covers the seams where the vinyl sheets meet.
Thanks

63 Sea Lancer Dash Help
Hello fellow Thompson collectors, restorers and dreamers, I have a project I have been working on for a few years now that is finally reaching the point of reassembly. It is a boat that has been in the family for years and I hope to keep it that way for years to come. I will give out more info on th...
