You may have to scuff or rough up the surface to get any paint to stick to the CPES. Remember that even though it is thin and soaks in it is still epoxy. I know that Smith's recommends that when apply paint you should put the first coat of paint on before the CPES is fully cured for maximum bonding....

Verne. They have auto as well as boats and lots of material as well. I don't know how to post a link so I just posted the web address. If you type that in on your computer it should bring them up. Here is another company as well. www.universalupholstery.com They specialize in vintage stuff. What are...

If you google Lyman Boat Works it will bring up the web site. The Guy that runs it(Tom Korkorny ?) is the Andreas equivilant for Lymans. If Lyman built he will know. The interesting points on your boat are the use of a wooden transom as well as windshield. A few years back I was looking at a vintage...

Ok....I'll go first. Interesting little boat. Don't think that I have ever seen a factory built glass hull boat with exposed wooden ribs in the bootom. Unless it wasn't factory built or I am seeing the pics wrong. Hull profile looks alot like a Lyman. I read some where that the MFG company used a Ly...

Ok Peter I went and checked my backup can of stain and lo and behold there is the Pettit name at the top of the label. Same numbers as before but now it says Kop-Coat Inc. Pettit paint division on the can in stead of Woolsey/Z-Spar Division. So I am thinking that the Jamestown stain is the same. See...

I get my Z-spar filler/stain from West Marine. I have a store about 25 miles from me(which in my neck of the woods makes it practicaly next door). Number on the can is 1095 Standard Mahogany. This product is made by a company called Kop-Coat,inc. Woolsey/Z-Spar division. Rockaway, NJ SKU number is 1...

I agree with what Andreas said. Shrink wrapping a boat of any kind leads to moisture problems(mold). Most heated storage places that I have dealt with don't have the heat set up to high unless it is a shop as well.If you use heated storage just make sure to have a humidifier running or if that is no...

Just a addition to this thread. Went to my nearest Home Depot to get the floor paint that Andreas suggested for my Thompson Off Shore and guess what ? No longer in the system. So I picked a color that looked like a good match to pics that Andreas posted. I will take some pics later and post and if i...

Great pics Andreas. Thanks for the post. That texture does look like the backside of the 4x8 sheets of pegboard that my wife has in her studio. Interesting. I will be going to HD tomorow to get the floorboard paint so I am glad to have seen the pic of the Off Shore flooring color. And I will be doin...
