Woody's 1966 ThomBoy Restoration
Updated Feb 7,2008 Questions are in bold . Feedback is appreciated. All but motor and steering wheel are off. Once removed she will be flipped and stripped to determine planking needs. I will most likely be replacing bottom and outer keel for sure. Need suggestions on trimming out deck. Will not be...

Vinyl Colors match under hardware
Upon removing deck hardware it is becoming clear the color was once green. The textures of the seats and decking are different. The decking has a leather grain texture. The seats are smoother. Two different material; different resistance to fading? I have posted pictures of my double transom stamps ...

Great bung technique!
Bill Did you get her in the basement yet? I've got the ThomBoy down to the motor. I'm going to buy a chain hoist and weld up a bar to put between the ceiling joist to get this 260 lb monster off. Possibly use it to turn boat over as well. Cradle one end and rotate with mattress below. I've got a cou...

Temporary Motor Stand/Motor removal
Looking for suggestions for a stand to hold 75 hp Evinrude while working on the boat. Nothing to elaborate. Nice if I could move it around and keep it out of my wife's (wives-no just kidding) way. Whats this motor weigh? Suggestions on removing from transom. Most of my friends have letters from thei...

It's Alive--She started!!
Thank you John for your time. After we spoke I determined I had spark. A little extra cranking and she fired up. I will take your advise on the tune up and other maintenance. There was a tan milky foam on the water during running. Is this a concern? I can now remove and begin to focus on wood! See o...

Seat and deck diff. color?
Is it possible for seats and decking to look different with age? The decks, dashboard, side panels all appear gray and white. The seats appear to have a green tint to them. This green is a light army green. Is it possible the seats have been switched? :?: The seat configuration is fold downs (front ...

Andreas
I read a response of your's I recall that indicated different interior colors for 64 and 65.
Can't find this on the forums.
Are any of the people who made this boat still around?
Thanx

'64 ThomBoy Wood Deck Option
I'm considering not covering the decks with vinyl when restoring my ThomBoy. I'm told wood or vinyl were options at no additional cost. I need a picture or description of deck and side rail configuration to restore this properly. I have seen Lancers with the rail lip above the deck. I have not seen ...

Great pics
I've got a ThomBoy that has vinyl on the deck. This was an option. I'm thinking of going to wood. Can you send me a couple shots of your decking and how it meets the trim on the sides.
