Sorry ,I can't answer your questions, have to wait for the experts to chime in. However , a word of caution. I believe that much of the marine plywood these days is imported and as such is in metric sizes. So consider that 12 mm = .472 and 10mm = .394 , now even with these conversions I do not know ...

I'm no expert on these motors , However I am quite familiar with the 1961 75 HP version... run one on my Sea Lancer. The 1960 and later motors benifitted primairly from a new streamlined lower unit and more efficient carb intake system. I don't know about any 60 HP reed system for the early versions...

Thanks Wguy, that's more info than I had ever seen on this item. I looked up the designer that's mentioned in the add ... looks to be a pretty proliferic fellow in the exotic auto business. Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky (1901–1964) was a Russian-American industrial designer, known principally for his ...

John, I just use conventional GL-4 80 / 90 W hypoid gear oil in all my outboards that have standard mechanical gear shift. I have always done this and have never had a problem. Now I know that you MUST use the proper recommended OEM lube in the electric or hydraulic shift motors. One other thing, I ...

What John said !! ... I don't fog my 1961 75 hp Evinrude either HOWEVER the boat and motor are always stored in a dry garage (un heated). If you are storing out in the weather, under a shed, canopy or tarp I would definatly fog. Be sure to drain and refresh the gear oil. ya' I think that the Tempro ...

Yep' what richnle said. These holes drain down the leg and tower, keep water from getting trapped and freezing ... very BAD!. keep the holes cleaned of any debris. The electric shift units are good reliable units, however very sensitive to water intrusion damage. Be sure that your gear lube is clean...

Well now you have pro and conn opinions.... If you decide on replacing, I would fill the sunken head hole with thickened epoxie. After hardening, redrilll the hole and relieve the end of the hole to square with a small square file, this to accomodate the carrage bolt. Should give the bolt a new firm...
