Hey Chris, obviously lurking to see what kind of comments you get. Guess my '68 is not a V-hull either, good to know. As I've mentioned I have a 125 hp Force on my Offshore now and although I only ran it the one time before i realized what a sieve she is, it ran great, got right up on plane and had ...

Leaky

Well, cleaning the inside was very helpful in locating leaks. The boat was nice and dry for the second floating, just eased her off the trailer into the water at the end of the winch strap. Only took a few minutes to see the garboard planks were leaking, then the next row up and the next row and........

Cleaning the Bilges

Good day all, new member and owner of a 1968 20' Offshore Camper. Put the boat in for the first time after a long dry storage and had the aft most floor board out to watch the aft bilge pump. Unsurprisingly, took on a liitle water during the short test. I decided to take out all the floor boards, cl...

1967 camper

Hi Chris, the link worked and Sunny Days is beautiful! Mine is in much worse shape to start with I'm afraid. I could not verify the model nunmber but removed the flooring and forward shelf boards and found "2060" written on the bottoms, so now know it's a Camper! I am very interested in yo...

1967 Offshore

Hello Chris, I recently purchased what I believe to be a 1968 20' Offshore. I was not able to open your photo album of your restoration. Pasting the link didn't work either. Are your pictures down now? Thanks, Tim

Mystery Solved!

Hi Andreas, I just might get to work on that this winter. I think replaceing the transom might come first though. The pictures you posted are the closest thing I have to knowing what the interior might have looked like. It looks like that might be a sink behind the front seat on the port side? Stove...

Mystery Solved!!!

Thanks very much for all the help in locating my hull ID number. I looked intensely this past weekend with no luck. It looks like the outer vertical mahagony transom boards on the inside port and starboard side were replaced with some other type of wood and I'm guessing the hull ID numbers went out ...

1968 Off Shore

WOW, thanks Andreas! Terrific interior pictures, just what I was interested in. I do think I'll pick up the CD, but understand these pictures were not part of the CD? The quality is fantastic for me! I noticed they all have windshield that appear to open, mine does not and doesn't look like it ever ...

1968 Off Shore

Thanks for the reply Andreas! I have removed the aft floor boards and I'm thinking about pulling out the fuel tank to get to the planks where they tie in to the transom. If I dig that far down I think I'll have the splash well bottom and sides removed and will be able to see the entire transom. Mayb...

My 196? Offshore?

Good day all! I'm moving this post over from the Announcements forum, since I've announced myself as a new member, now looking for information about my boat. First of all, this boat has the nicest lines I've seen before, beautiful bow flare and hull lines. I love it. Now to the details as I know the...

What I Have

Thanks for the replies so far! I can not find the model number on my Thompson, so only the serial number for now. I have some overall dimensions now, the overall length is 20' 1", the beam is 8' and the gunwale length is 21' 8". I've also tried to attach a few pictures. http://img715.image...

Looking for Thompson CD-ROM

I looked at both sites and can't find reference to the Thompson catalogs on CD-ROM referred to in some older posts www.dragonflycanoe.com and www.wcha.org. Where can I find this CD today? I have what seems to be a 196? Off Shore and would like to see what the original interior looked like. THanks, T...

New Member!

Good day all! I'm a new member in the Seattle area and own what may be a 1962 or 1963 or ? 20' Thompson Off Shore. I can't be sure of the year yet, but Miles thinks that is the range, even though it's registered as a 1968. The Serial Number is 28298, can't find any other numbers except the Washingto...
