Is there a preferred type of cut ie. quarter sawn. 3. 1x12x12 footers are about $7/ft for SA and $5/ft for african. Wh...

Is this the preferred transom rebuild now? When fastening the new transom do you replace the nails with...

Thanks for the feedback. I have the same thoughts about sand blasting. I have stripped most of the paint from the interior using a commercial stripper and a pressure washer. this removed 98% of the paint. I was worried that continuous pressure washing would also damage the wood. I have purchased a s...

Transom replacement

OK I am ready to remove and replace the transom and I have a few questions. I have a 1960 Peshtigo Sea Lancer: 1. There are 5 of screws and 5 nails on the outside of each lapstrake along the transom. Hey Jim, Thats the method I have read about. I wonder if anyone ever used a boat rotisserie to flip and work on a boat. Maybe someone with more experience can answer our questions.

What year do I have

I am restoring a sea lancer but am unsure of the year. Serial numer is 16556. The first part of the hull id is covered by the splash well. the exposed numbers are 0398M. The dash has a vinyl dash pad and the windows have an aluminum frame around them.

thanks for the help.
