Thanks Phil. I do agree but it is good to hear that validated by you. I need to re-wire this winter. Do you guys use a battery switch disconnect? I wonder if that's not a wise idea.

One or two Batteries?

I am considering using two batteries on my '62 T&T 17' Breakers. The 90 Evinrude e-Tec is new this season. I was wondering if two batteries wouldn't be a little excessive. Is anyone out there using two on a boat this size? One reason I am considering this is the fact that most of the use of this...

I have some of the same questions along this line, some of this discussion helped already, however, here is my situation. I have a '62 T&T Breakers on a new trailer. After some input from me, the dealer set it up like shown. I think it needs more rollers forward. I would also like to drop the st...

THanks Andreas and Al for the information. I am on the Antique Outboard site and will go after the fierglassics site too. You have answered much, some of which I guessed but thanks for the expert input. I'll get it yet.

62 Mercury

Rather new to this outboard thing. Have a '62 Merc 700 which I have not started yet but was assured it ran well after being tuned last year. 1. Can I start this on land using the flushing "muffs"? 2. What are the 2 shock absorbers for? 3. It has electric start but does it have a generator?...

Just removed my outer keel on '62 T&T Breakers last Friday from underneath. Boat was supported at transom/sister keels and just forward of the outer keel. Used a creeper & face shield, good, large screwdriver and slowly removed all screws. Keel came off perfect with a little coaxing. My only...

Well, I've been reading these posts for a year or so now and since I am neither a boat builder nor a restorer I've hesitated in posting. On the topic of strength and flex of laminations vs. that of solid members, however, I can tell you this, John. As a sculptor who has 30 years in laminated wood me...

Andreas and Brian. Thanks for the input. Basically, I am trying to turn a model 1773 into a 1775 special or a Thomboy in the seating configuration... don't know quite yet. Do NOT want some pleat & rolled whatever seats. Do want something that looks stock 1964 but not "hung-up" over it....

Seat plans

Does any one know of plans available to construct back to back/bunk seats for a sea coaster? I would like to convert from the standard front seat for the 1964 model 1773.
