Snowed here last year and year before, but was 10 plus years before that, do miss it to help get in ...

Wood boats are simple to work on, once you get going.

Mine came apart and went back together very easily. Some may disagree!

For ginding I would use a 10,000rpm 4" grinder with 30 grit paper, I would use a utility knife to carve any remaining material. Maybe a dremel tool! For a hole I see nothing wrong with a circular tapered plug expoxed inplace! All this went thru my mind as my engine was trying to fly up in my Cr...

Depending on the condition of the transon, you may be able to remove it, and then dissasemble it and clean up each board, by running it thur a thickness planner ( remove less than a 1/16 on each side) and put it back to gether. I was able to do that with mine, only had to replace one inner board aro...

Marget at North Shore is amazing, they have nos old parts, almost everthing you would need. Bought a 1973 6hp nos crakshaft for my granddaughters, 6 hp Johnson she rebuilt.

There is a tilt unit for you, they were very comon. Should be a lot of used ones around.

The 1973 70hp did have their problems with the electroic ignition system. I was a Evinrude factory trained mechanic back then, the 75 were more dependable. Gas was biggest isue. The 70 hp was faster and had more low end thrust.

Weight should not make a difference, however gas will be most likely 3 times as much. Top speed with drop about 3 to 5 mph with the old 75. I would still go with the 75 for show and the 70 for every day boating. they use the same holes and steering, it is an hour swap from one engine to other. I run...
