STAIN PROBLEM
The first application on the transom is blotchy. Can I put a second coat right over the top of the first or do I need to sand the first coat off and start with bare wood? THANK YOU for any help!

Interlux wood filler stain
I used Interlux brown mahogany on my transom and it sure looks red to me. Is there any way of getting away from the red and getting something like the deck of Ernie Cottrell's boat in the Dockside Boats pictures. Thanks for any help.

splash well
I'm working on a '57 Cruisers Inc.. It looks like the inside of the transom was stained and the splash-well attached to it is not. The splash-well seems to be just varnish over wood. Is this correct? The splash-well looks like it is made up of plywood. Would this be original? Thanks

I have 9 bolts holding the outer keel on. In between each bolt there are about 2 screws going from the bottom up into the outer keel and then into the keelson. Can anyone tell me if these screws are factory installed? They seem to be different sizes. I'm thinking they put there by the owner after ye...

Take off outside keel??
With the boat held up by the bow eye and the two eyes on the transom can I remove the outer keel by taking out the carriage bolts from inside and then take the screws out from outside. Then drop the outer keel. Can this be done without bracing the inside from side to side? Thank You
