Can not get motor to fire. This old motor is new to me. Odd arm leading to distributor cap. Motor turns over-just won't fire.
Gas is getting to plugs-pulled two and had fuel.
Any suggestions on simple checks prior to taking it to professional?
Are parts available for this beauty?
Thanx

Manual says 1 qt to 6 gallons
Received manual yesterday. It's the '64 owners manual, but I'm told it covers the '63 as well.
Manual indicates 1 qt to 6 gallons. Can use 30 wt oil as well or marine oil.
Thoughts.

Just ordered manuals for motor. Came installed on the 64/65 ThomBoy I purchased. Does anyone else out there have this motor?
Any insight on ownership?
Does it push this boat well?
I would like to recondition. Help with paint color and prep. will be appreciated.

Hey from new Thompson owner
Bill I looked at Dave's boat last year. It will be a nice boat when restored. I brought home a ThomBoy this weekend. My wife is not quite as enthusiastic about "old wooden boats". I'd like to correspond on these two projects. I'm north of town in Alpharetta. I'm pretty sure both our boats ...

I have the following information: Transom Plate no. 27364 Hull No INZ071388033 Hull No. taken from prior owners registration. Too darn cold here in ATL to uncover and look at boat. Andrea, you told me the boat is likely a 1965 when I shared the Plate No. with you. What can anyone tell me given these...

Requesting feedback on order of restoration
Just purchased and parked '65 Thomboy in driveway. Plan to continue to survey needs. I purchased Don Danenberg's books already. What I know now: Decay at ends of several frames at keelson. Decay noted at ends of both top planks at transom. Transom/planking connection requires refastening. Need to re...

Looking for color options for a '65 ThomBoy.
Also, what color stain should be used.
Decks are presently vinyl. Does anyone have knowledge of wood decking varnished on this model?
