Thanks for the replies.
If I use a stain or possibly a combination of terps, varnish and an aniline dye to enhance the cedar hull, let it dry and cure out, can I still apply CPES?

Varnishing the interior
I am still a ways from the finish work on my cedar strip boat but I have been thinking about when I will have to varnishing the interior. I like the darker aged look as opposed to the new(er) stripped and re-varnished look. I wanted to find a way to really make the cedar stand out and was thinking o...

Smith's CPES
Can anyone tell me how much CPES I will need to treat the 12' cedar strip boat I have? It is available in 2 pint kits as well as 2 quart kits and 2 gallon.
I am going to do both the inside and outside and likely the deck and transom.
I am not familiar with how far this stuff will go.
Thanks
Steve

Thanks Brad I did not replace them. They had some small bad spots you can't really see that I was able to remove and replace with epoxy filler. I thought about replacing them if they could not be repaired. If I did I would probably use the old ones as forms and steam and glue up strips and shape it ...

Thanks Andreas That is a picture of a 240 I found for sale. When I first saw the picture I noticed the trim around the outside edge of the transom. I had seen the same detail on a Tomahawk and wondered if this was typical to these types of boats. I found out, (I think from you) this is used on canva...

New Frames installed
Well I steam bent and installed the remainder of the frames for my cedar strip runabout. I replaced 80% of them and will start rebuilding the transom. I have some 40 year old Honduran Mahogany will be using. Here is a link to a photo of the completed frames: http://www.flickr.com/photos/66652366@N02...

For Andreas
Hi Andreas
I saw in an older post on Wooden Boat Forum you had displayed a 14" twin cockpit runabout.
I have seen pictures of your other boats.
Would you have some of this boat you could share?
Thanks
Steve
