Bill, That's how I made the new stem for my boat only I used three thinner pieces of green white oak and used the bow of the boat to form them with. I screwed them to the bow with spacers in between. Left them that way with a small fan blowing on them for three weeks. When I laminated them together ...

Also. The two peices that you see were replacements for the ones that were originaly in the boat. They had some cracks in them and since I had enough oak I replaced them. They are screwed to the ribs at every other rib. You just need to make sure that the screws you use are not to long. The ends of ...

When I first painted the boat I used an anti fouling bottom paint. I wasn't real thrilled with it when I put it on and after I had the boat on the water I made up my mind I was going to remove it and paint it with the same paint I used on the trailer. This meant lifting the boat back off the trailer...

Question about tach wiring
I have an Air Guide tach and I can't get it to work. It has two wires coming out of it. Yellow and Brown. It came with the boat and was hooked up but I don't know if it ever worked. I don't see anywhere that you can set it for different pulses. Is it missing a part? I see where some of the older one...

I removed my window gasket and then reused it. It had five or six shallow vee's cut into the dovetail (the part that you can't see) in the corners to help it bend. You may want to try a small piece just to experiment. If you have a small gap when you are done it will cause the corners to come back o...

Dan, I'm sure that the keel will flex. If it transfers to the floor to much I can remove them fairly easy. I made the back seat to come out without any tools. If I ever need to get to the aft bilge pump or anything else back there I can unfasten it and move it in about thrity seconds. The front seat...

Dan, You were correct. There are crossover holes. I would never thought they would be that small. It makes me wonder how much epoxy I did or didn't get in them. I'll check all of them. Looks like it's time to design a foward bilge pump system! Peter, Thanks for the pictures. That's the first thing I...

Dan, Thanks for the info. Mine didn't have a cross over tube. I didn't think of it until after I had the inside done and epoxied and decided against drilling a hole through the keelson and putting a tube in it. So your telling me when the boat is at dock that the water will collect under the front s...

A Picture of the boat with the final coat of primer. I'll lightly sand it one more time then add the color. The bottom will be blue with a white enamel on top. As you can see the windshield is complete. http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/5722/cruisers202021le9.jpg By Marinermikes http://img152.image...

You can't use anything like elmers. Water has an efect on it. I did some testing on Gorilla glue. I made a new stem for my boat out of three peices of oak with it. I first glued a couple of sample peices together an then tried everything we could think of to get them apart, hammer and chisel, soaked...
