None yellowing varnish ?

Post by brian62 »

Is there a varnish that does not have that yellowish tint to it?

brian62,

There are some natural varnishes that will not yellow or what I like to call "Honey" as they age as much as others. Most good marine varnishes have the honey color and it is what most of us look for in restoring boats.

PolyUrethanes, epoxy's and water based varnishes are generally clear but not all are good for finishes on wood boats.

Good Luck,

Phill

Thanks Phil,I am staining the deck close to the original color but was concerned that the varnish i have would make it look different than what im shooting for.I think i will experiment a little on the bottom side of the deck...
