you can never have too many rod holders on a salmon trolling boat

Besides a smart assed reply to that...I just can't think of anything.

I'll just let that last comment speak for itself, lol.

Tim,
Aren't you asking for a HUGE tangle if you get a fish on one of those lines and reel it in??? Or maybe the procedure is to troll through the school until there's a fish on EACH line???? :D Don't know anything about salmon fishing....

You sure can't turn that thing on a dime with all those lines out. Plus how do keep your strength after pulling the lines in after hooking up?

you don't have rods in the water in all of those rod holders, but it's nice to be able to move rods around when there is a fish being fought, they can get into the other lines in the water pretty easily and make a mess of things.

The rocket launcher (rod holders on top of the hardtop) are mostly used for storage.

That's not my boat, but mine does look similar, we typically have 6 or 8 lines in (depending on the number of people in the boat).

No you cannot turn on a dime when trolling. you don't pull in all the lines aftrer hooking up, that's why it's nice to have all the rod holders, to be able to move the rods around and get them out of the way of an active fish.

Here's a couple of mine. Mine is a 1986 Thompson 8652 Offshore Hardtop
