For those that asked for pics... this custom folding bracket is made from hard aluminum ( dural). All the pivot points have fiber washers to ensure smooth movement and the thing stays where you set it.

Thanks for the pics Joe. did you fabricate this yourself? Where did you get the aluminum and can it be cut with a standard jigsaw? Dan

Dan, I used the hard alum because it made for a little more rigid set-up and I happened to have some on hand. Yes you can cut it with normal saw or snips, it's still softer than normal iron sheet. You could use just about any aluminum sheet of proper thickness. The tube spacer part was a lathe job, but lacking a lathe one could fab it carefully by hand ..or maybe just wood dowel. As you can surmise, I made thiis and about anything else ever needed myself... have a pretty complete home machine shop. I do some work for friends as a little side line to help keep the various hobbies afloat.
