Chetek

Post by nfh500 »

Looks like a Chetek hijack!

My 1961 Chetek Empress needed a little TLC this winter. She won't hold a candle to some of what I've seen on this forum, but the kid has not looked this good in years. I've never seen another Empress, and wonder if any of you have run accross one?.

At 18', she is about the same size, and I assume was a competitor to, the Thompson Lancer Express. I've also seen a Cruiser's Inc. cuddy that was very similar.

I guess the main reason I'm posting this is to thank all of you for the help. I've learned a lot from this forum, and it was invaluable during my winter project. I still have more to do, and even a few "oops" to go back and fix.

Just got back from the Chetek fly-in and boat show where I met John Baas and his BEAUTIFUL 1959 Chetek Duchess. Very enjoyable time. Couple Thompson's there as well and I'll post some pics as soon as I am able.

Welcome aboard. It's nice to see some non-Thompson interest here.

Please post pics of the Chetek event.
