1959 photo of Off Shore Cabin Cruiser

Post by LancerBoy »

1959 photo of the Thompson (Peshtigo) 18'-8" Off Shore Cabin Cruiser. Inspiraiton for getting to work on mine one of these days! The motors are 1958 Johnson 35 HP.

Picture must be taken around Madison, WI - look at the highway signs!

Too cool to see that Andreas, thanks. I think that is where I turn to head home from work everyday (obviously had changed a LOT since then).

That is neat!
Also that is a AMC 1958 Rabler station wagon to boot.
Notice how far the rear bunks protrude out behind the transom. Good way to keep people from walking of drining into those twin Johnson 35's on the back......LOL.

Keep those pictures coming Andreas.

I bet it was a Thompson company owned trailer that they used for moving boats around. Big enuff to haul their biggest model but used for anything that needed to be moved.

This same rig, 59 Off Shore Cabin with twin 58 Johnson motors made it into some of the 59 ads and brochures. This particular picture was never used however.

The Rambler is red.
