rope or cable ?

Which is best wire cable or rope for winching boats onto trailer? Thank You

Mine has a seatbelt like strap for the winch rope/cable.

I have all three types on different trailers. All work just fine.

I have all three types as well but I like the strap (seatbelt) type the best.
It doesn't wind over it self like rope or cable does so it operates the smoothest.
