Switches on dash

Post by JALL »

Can someone tell me if most knobs on the switches (probably original 50's) were just pushed on from the front side of the dash? I would like to get my switch off and with a lock nut on the front side of the dash and a lock nut on the back side of the dash and no set screw to hold the knob on I think it must have been forced on from the front after installing the lock nuts on both sides of the dash. Thanks for any help!

Knobs are threaded on the shafts. Standard right hand thread.
