wiring lights

Post by JALL »

When wiring bow and stern lights is it best to use 2 separate switches, one for each light or 1switch with three positions? What is the preferred way? Thanks for any help.

No preference. They can be run off the same switch. If you anchor at night, you must have an all-around white light (anchor light). So if you utilize one switch only, it should be wired so the stern light only operates at one of the postions.

Cole Hersee makes chromed pull-push switches that look just like the ones used in the 1950s and 1960s. Don't use some ugly looking plasticy thing.
