Thompson did not furnish motors with there boats. Motors where furnished by the dealer and he sold what ever motors he had a frachise to sell.
So you decide which is your favorite make of outboard and find one of the same year or close to the same year and use that one.
If you are looking for what size motor could be used you will need to give us a lot more info. Go to "What Do I Have" on this website and furnish all the info asked for and submit it and we can tell you what model and possibly the year of your boat and then you can determine what the boat was rated for HP wise.
