Should be on left clamp bracket, also one freeze plug on right side of block.

Go to www.old-omc.de for old sales catalogs for most years 1950 to 1970. Also have serial number and year lists. I have a complete colection of 1960 Evinrudes. see them at www.aerialimaging.net/johnpics43

The 1960 75 has a red stripe on the lower section of the motor hood. If it's a 50 either 1958 or 1959 the motor is held on transom with thumb screws, after that engine where bolted on without thumb screws. 1961 and 62 75 were a very dark gray almost black in color. Patrs are very easy to find, lots of gas but great engines.

John basicly said the same thing but 1958 was the first year of OMC's V4, with it being a 50hp. 1959 was the same, then in 1960 this became a 70HP or 75 (I only deal with 1958 & 1959)
