parts for old mercury

Post by jim »

I am having trouble finding a part for a 1966 mercury 1100ss outboard. In particular I am looking for "idle tubes". These are no longer made. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Jim

JIm,

Contact Antique Outbard Motor Club at www.aomci.org
They might be able to help you find someone who knows where to find the parts. Also if you are a member of the club you can put an ad for the parts you need in the newsletter under "wanted" and I am sure someone will have what you need.

Good Luck,

Phill

Jim,
Another possibility is www.oldmercs.com. They seem to have a preety good selection of new and used parts. I have a 1963 Merc 850 and have done some browsing on the site myself. They even have some of the decals for some of the older motors. Good luck.

Jim - if you are still looking for parts - go to www.fiberglassics.com. Then to the Mercury forum. Tons of great advice and sources from truly knowledgeable folks. I've gotten lots of help for my 62 Merc 1000
