Painting waterline on 16ft '59

Post by dfsuggs »

Any tips, references or photos of waterline on a lapstrake 16ft? Photos on trailer maybe?

I have the remnants of line on boat, so I can locate ok. Seems a bit tricky to cross over laps. Is the line painted across the edge of the lap?

Thanks,
David

yes the water line is painted around lap edges.
I launched my boat last weekend and the oil from my outboard , (which would not stay running) left a perfect waterline around hull, that is one way. A lot of people wait until boat is in water then mark it.

The latest issue of WOODEN BOAT magazine has an excellent article about painting the waterline on lapstrake boats. Great info!
