Protect your hands

Post by txcaptdan »

All this talk about epoxys and such brings up another subject. After a bad experience with epoxy and bare flesh, I always wear protective gloves whenever working with any of these marine related materials. I got a box of 100 latex surgical gloves and put a pair on any time I am varnishing, painting or using epoxy, just thrown them away when done, I will go through 4-6 pair a day.
Also wash hands regularly.
Fumes are another issue the other day I had to use a fan when coating a deck with an epoxy seal coat, even though outdoors, the wind died and I needed a breeze to carry away the fumes.
Be careful out there!
