Newer Power for Seacamper

Post by txcaptdan »

I swapped out my old 90hp Johnson Metoer for a 1985 115hp Johnson with tilt and trim. Bolted right up and will launch tomorrow. I am really looking forward to the tilt and trim option . Wish me luck!

Also looking forward to the reduced noise!

Depending on how reliable my merc ends up being, a newer powerplant looks pretty darn attractive. Nice boat captain!

Lake tested her today OMG what a difference, 1/3 the noise and 4x the power. Hit 32 on rough water, could ski behind this boat now. I never realized how tired the old 90 hp was.

1965?? basically a merc 1000. A 115 pwr head up to 1972 would fit on your intermediate housing if you wanted to go that route for more power
