Chrome trim source

Post by Portside »

I am trying to replace the aluminum bang strips in the stem, spray rails and transom corners. Anyone have a go-to site? I was told Lyman was a good search but nothing jumps right out. Thanks

I have obtained some aluminum trim stuff thru Eagle Aluminum Mouldings in Osseo, MN.

Taco is a major marine extrusion firm. They sell thru West Marine and probably many other marine outlets.

I have also modified some aluminum trim for bang plates that I got at Home Depot or similar.

You sometimes need to be very creative to replicate the old, original stuff.

Thank you, Andreas. I am thinking of using a chrome plated metal on the spray rails and transom corners even though I know it's not original. I've seen it done and it sure looks nice. Any sources there ?
