transom parts

Post by andre lafrance »

a friend stopped by today as i was working on the eight pieces of wood which are on the interior of my '57 15' sea coaster. he asked me what they were called. I HAD NO IDEA! i know someone knows. when you have time, please help. thanks. oh, and by the way, i've been experimenting with various stains. i was looking for a stain that would have the same shade on white oak, african mahogany, and sapele (sp). i tried chris craft mahogany, brown mahogany, a recipe which danenberg suggested, red mahgany, and combinations. but when andreas suggested standard mahogany because of his success with it, i ordered that too. thank you andreas! it has just the tone for which i was looking. this site has really been a help to someone who knew nothing of wooden boats one year ago.
