Turning the screws

I am installing the bottom on my 63 seacoaster and need to know how tight to make the machine screws.
How do I know if the machine screws are tight enough.
I'm concerned about striping or snapping the new silicon bronze screws.
Is it snug plus a half turn or something similar?

Just make them as tight as you feel comortable with. If you are using the correct length screw you won't hve a lot of thread showing past the nut.
Use a nut driver. It looks like a screwdriver handel with socket end on it. Don't use a regular socket and rachet or wrench as It will be to easy to really put some torque on it.
It's mostly a judgement thing.
Hope this helps.
