Big Ribs for a woody boat

How's this for some big ribs!

These are white oak glued laminated timber frames for 165 ft. US Navy minesweeper AMS class. The frames were being shipped to Burger Boat in Manitowoc, WI. The photo was taken at Unit Structures, Inc. in Peshtigo, WI in 1952.

The building in the far background is the lumber storage warehouse of Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. at Peshtigo.

Here's a shot of glued laminated frames being delivered in 1984 from the laminating plant at Peshtigo to the shipyard in Marinette, WI. This was for 224 ft. wooden MCM minesweeper construction

Thanks Andreas! I'd love to see some photos inside the Thompson Peshtigo plant if you have any. :D
