I have been looking at alot of different Thompson boats anywhere from the fifties to the sixties and have come up with a question. Why do some boats have their helm on the port side? You read the sales catalogs from the cd and they say steering is included, so why would some be on the other side? I am just curious and figure Andreas will have a good answer for me.

There are many theories about steering wheel placement. Some says it is because of torque of the propeller. Steering is on the side opposite the rotation to offset the torque. Is it true or not? Who knows?
