Our Thompson (1957) seems difficult to steer especially in waves. Others have that experience or solutions?

Could be any number of reasons, such as: boat being over powered, angle of motor, hog or hook in hull, hull out of shape (other than hog or hook, distribution of weight in the boat, etc...

We need much more information to be helpful. Such as: what make and model boat, what length, what hull construction, what year, what is the condition of he boat and motor, HP and make of the outboard...

The year is 1957, a 14 ft with windshield (I don't have model etc) powered by a 35 hp Johnson. I think the angle of the motor may be the issue. The condition of the hull is good. Just wondered if this is common...and when we go out in it I will try some different angles for the motor. Haven't launched it yet this summer, but will soon (on Lake Mooselookmeguntic in Maine).
