I am refinishing a 1952 - 14 foot Thompson Tomboy (Peshtigo} that was my fathers. The keel is in good shape but shows a crack to the bottom. Should it be calked, and if so with what? The top of the transom is loose. How should it be reattached to the deck? Do you have a recommendation for the exterior white paint over the fiberglass?

Welcome aboard!

If you truly have a Thomboy model from 1952, you have a rare boat. Make sure you restore it CORRECTLY.

Sounds like you should remove the outer keel and asses the situation. Pictures would be extremely helpful to show the problems.

Email me directly and we can chat. I have TWO 1955 Thomboys.
