Right to the point... there is what looks to be a tan color wood-filler on the cedar planks of my 12ft TVT. Should I remove the filler during the stripping process? If so, how would I do that?

Or should I leave the filler and blend it in with the existing cedar planks? If I leave it, will it not look different from the rest of the cedar planks upon varnish time? Thanks!!

On the exterior of the hull planking? Or some other place?

Is this supposed to be a painted boat? The Super Deluxe and Super Deluxe Runabout and Thomboy were the only TVT hulls that had varnished planking. All other models had painted hullsides and spray rails. And even on those varnished models, the spray rail and hull below the spray rail was painted.

If it is one of the varnished hulls, the filler should be a stainable type. Stain it right along with the planking and then varnish.
