Depending on how reliable my merc ends up being, a newer powerplant looks pretty darn attractive. Nice boat captain!

I have a feeling we will be flying by the seat of our pants on this one. I really can't tell without seeing it up close and personal. I am 100% confident that I can figure it out though.

I am thinking replacement with flexible rubber line is the way to go here. How many years did the original last? Realistically it will be a huge PITA to replace it with stainless line. Looks like your only about an hour from where I work. Let me know if you make it, I am typically very busy but will...

Dennis, I got mine at home depot. It works a bit slower than the stuff you were working with but the feeling of imminent death isn't so thick in the air! lol

Looks great, hoping to actually start on my boat soon too!

John, replacing that tire/wheel right now will save you a whole lot of potential headache. Just keep the one that is on there as a spare. I put a new tire on my old boat trailer and it was a bit out of round. It vibrated like crazy! Made for a not so fun trip home.

Steve are you going to make a jig or something to bend the new ribs around? I will need to do similar work on my boat, I have a handful of deformed ribs on one side.
